STRESSED??!! OVERWHELMED??!!

It's that time of year when I want to just burrow under the covers and come out in a couple of months. It's cold, it's dark, it's busy at work, my skin is dry, my car is a new color (dirty brown), I'm not getting enough exercise, on some days my yoga practice consists of taking one deep breath!! What's the answer?? For me, it's about baby steps and forgiveness. I try to remind myself that I have choices and I have the ability to change things and change my attitude--and sometimes that actually works!! I try to do some little thing--another deep breath, listen to good music, my favorite yoga pose. I also try to forgive myself -- after all, it is winter in Minnesota and spring will be here eventually and things will be better!

Yep, I know what you mean. I lived in Minneapolis for 6-months a long time ago. Wow - for one 2-week stretch, it never got above 5-degrees below zero. Every morning, about 15-below was about normal. For most of my life, I've lived just outside of Chicago - that's lousy in the winter too. I'm retired now, but the stress seems to go on. We are trying to sell our house, our dog has problems, we're on a fixed income, I am diabetic so I have to find time every day to exercise, and we are running an Internet business called www.frogkreek.com, selling Yoga gear and supplies. Don't know how I found time to work before I retired. The 3-mile walk I do every day and my Yoga helps me stay on a even keel and reasonably content.

I totally agree. I think women have a hard time tuning out. I always feel like if there are things to be done then I should be doing them.

I find taking a class with friends is a great way to relieve stress. You have the distraction of your friends and yoga to pull you through.

If you want to deepen yourself in the study and practice in yoga, ayurveda and meditation than this is a golden offer to change the direction of the life with the help of yoga and meditation. Our sessions begin each morning with 90 minutes. We are offering the opportunity to practice the yoga in fullness and expand the internal energy. Got to get that Yoga Lifestyle ingrained as a habit that is all at once mindful and also as mindless as brushing one's teeth. Here's to exchanging ideas to make that happen!
